I had a conversation via Facebook the other day while discussing Annie’s Amber Ale being at Old Chicago in Manhattan. Based off that conversation I thought I would throw together this post to point out all of the breweries and brewpubs in Kansas (thanks for the idea Julie). At some point I plan to go to all of them (probably once I buy a house) and write about the beer and food. Once I’ve covered the Kansas breweries I will expand into Nebraska, Missouri, and possibly Colorado (that will take forever). But for now check out the Kansas breweries and brewpubs.
Think globally, Drink locally.
High Noon Saloon & Brewery – Leavenworth, Kansas
Granite City Food & Brewery – Kansas City, Olathe, and Wichita Kansas (it is a chain brewery but check them out anyway)
Flying Monkey – Olathe, Kansas (still not sure about this since they brew in Weston MO.)
Free State Brewing Company – Lawrence, Kansas
23rd Street Brewery – Lawrence, Kansas
Blind Tiger – Topeka, Kansas
Tallgrass Brewing Company – Manhattan, Kansas
Little Apple Brewing Company – Manhattan, Kansas
River City Brewing Company – Wichita, Kansas
Hank is Wiser Brewery – Cheney, Kansas
Mo’s Place – Beaver, Kansas
Gella’s Diner & Lb. Brewing Company – Hays, Kansas
That’s all of them. If you make it to any of them take a picture and post it on our Facebook page. It’s always good to see readers enjoying a great beer.
If you plan on going to any of them or going to a different state the best way to map out a beer exploration trip is using these 2 websites:
The Beer Mapping Project – They aren’t always up to date but it’ll get the job done.
Craft Beer Locator – Newly discovered and I haven’t used it but looks nice.
Happy Beer Hunting and Prost!
