A quick note about some upcoming beer fests in the area. The first is HOP in the City by Schlafly held Saturday, September 18 from Noon-5:00 p.m. at The Schlafly Tap Room. This of course is in St. Louis. Hit them up if you make it that direction.
Something a little closer that day (Sept. 18) is the Oktoberfest Little Apple 2010. There are limited tickets so buy soon. Procceeds will benefit the local Manhattan Parks and Rec Scholarship Fund, Kansas Public Radio, and the local Kansas Bread Basket.
Also that same day (Sept. 18) in Topeka is the Topeka Zoobilee. This is a little pricier than the beer fests but you help keep the Topeka Zoo running and looking nice.
It looks like September 18th is a busy day for beer drinkers. Oh the choices.
Next up is the KC Beer Fest. There isn’t a lot of information for the 4th annual beer fest except that it’s October 16th will be held at The Legends at Village West.
Finally there is the 10th Annual Midwest Beer Fest in Wichita October 21 – 23. The first day is a class on glass tasting and how different glasses affect the taste of beer. The second day is a beer dinner featuring Big Sky Brewing Co. and New Belgium Brewing Co. (both are held at different locations). And the final day is a beer tasting of close to 500 different beers. All procedes benefit the AIWF Culinary Scholarship fund, and there is a silent auction that benefits the Children’s Miracle Network.
