Sweaty Betty Blonde by Boulder Beer is such a beauty. I’m a fan of Blonde ales. Mostly because they are just like Wit ales without having the spices in them. In fact Blonde ales are German and Wit ales are Belgium. That’s the major difference. Germans aren’t so excited about spices in their beer. Maybe that’s why I like the less spicy pumpkin beers. Sweaty Betty is a perfect example of a Blonde ale. In fact Boulder Beer is just awesome. They make some really fantastic beers. I know I praise them a lot but it’s difficult not to when they are just so darn tasty.
The color was a lovely golden hue with a white head. The aroma was bready with a slight hint of banana. The taste was bready with a light, crisp, hint of banana. A very light wheat beer. I know Summer is over, but I got this in the Boulder Beer Mixed Pack and just got around to it. Nothing like a crisp beer on an afternoon in the 80s knowing full well that the night will be in the 40s.
This is a great beer and a great company. Again, I urge you to pick up a mix pack and give it a try. I think you might like what you get.
